Ahhh ... tonight I will visit my exhibition at The Farmhouse Restaurant in Emmaus, PA. I'm meeting a friend who has several of my paintings in her incredible art collection. I'm looking forward to sharing with her my new 'art' idea and also sharing a glass of wine. One of my favorites that The Farmhouse serves is the 'Bogle' Zinfandel ... deep, rich and flavorful.

So, I'm eating a bunch of salads lately ... and soups ... and walking ... and painting ... oh, and I exhibited my prints and paintings at the new SteelStacks in Bethlehem, PA last weekend. It was nice except that the clouds were looming overhead and it rained a bit. But, I still managed to paint a large 36" x 36" painting of the blast furnaces. Sugar Snap Peas

What vegetable could be more 'spring-like' than a steaming batch of Sugar Snap Peas ? The color alone looks like spring. Why not cook up a lovely piece of salmon for dinner with a side of fresh veggies on this cloudy, damp Spring day ?

A couple of persons who purchased my Painting Each Day paintings, requested certain veggies or fruits be painted. They then featured them on the soffit in their kitchens - they looked great and added needed color to the monochromatic room. Maybe you might consider 5, 7 or even more 6" x 6" paintings to transform your kitchen with your personal art choice.

I painted Apples maybe 30 times and this painting could be one of my favorites. Maybe because it shows the complexity of the apple ... the core, the seeds, the skin ... the beauty of the inside as well as the outside. And isn't that what's important ? !

Happy Cinco de Mayo !! My beautiful niece Elizabeth and her wonderful husband Adam own the Mexican Restaurant 'Cactus Blue'. Adam is also the head chef !! The food is incredible. Although I always try to be adventurous, I always come back to ordering the 'Fajita Blue'. I love the sautéed shrimp and the marinated beef combination. It's mouth-watering delicioso !!! Plus you get all the 'fixins' ... shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, onions and a side of rice and black beans which is a meal in itself.

I highly recommend 'Cactus Blue' ... but especially today for it's 'Cinco de Mayo'. They already hoisted up the tent, turned up the music and are ready for today's party ... after a bit of painting in my studio, that's where I'm headed.

A little nosh and a little Sangria and I'm good to go.

... then .... Siesta .............

Mojito Lime Cocktail

What You Need

1 pkt. (makes 2 qt. drink) or 2 pkt. (makes 1 qt. drink each) Lemonade Flavor Drink Mix
2-1/2 cups water
1/2 cup rum
6 mint sprigs
3 cups club soda
6 lime slices

Empty contents of drink mix packet into large plastic or glass pitcher. Add water and rum; stir until drink mix is completely dissolved. ADD mint. Refrigerate until ready to serve. STIR in club soda. Serve over ice cubes in tall glasses. Add lime slice to each glass.
