But I'm rooting for my man, Colin Firth ... gotta love him ... there will never be a lovlier Mr. Darcy ...

Puffles • Purple Puffle

Puffles • Purple Puffle • this painting is sold

This is the last of the three puffles that I painted. Frankly, I still don't really know what they are or what they do ... but they made for a nice set of paintings for the three children who received them.

Thanks Andy for the commission - I appreciate it !

Puffles • Green Puffle

Puffles • Green Puffle • this painting is sold

The green puffle is one of the most popular puffles in Club Penguin. They can be adopted from the Pet Shop for 800 coins.

About Green Puffles

The adoption catalog says that green puffles are known to be very energetic and active. They are much like clowns, and like to goof around a lot. They are very energetic and playful. Their favorite toys include the unicycle and the propeller cap.

Keeper of the Boiler Room

There is a very famous green puffle in Club Penguin. He is known as the Keeper of the Boiler Room and he can be found in the Night Club sitting on top of one of the speakers. He appears in one of the books in the book room on the second floor of the coffee shop called Truth or Dare. In the story, the Keeper of the Boiler Room is discovered by a penguin who was dared to stay in the boiler room. Now the Keeper stays in the Night Club and dances on the speaker.

I still don't know what puffles are ... ?

Puffles • Blue Puffle

Puffles • Blue Puffle • this painting is sold

What Are Puffles?

Puffles are the fluffy colourful balls of fun, native to Club Penguin that we keep as pets. Often you will see penguins taking their puffles for a walk.

Why Should I Get One?

Puffles make a lovely addition to any igloo, they have big characters and some will even come along with you when you play a mini game. Puffles are fun to take care of and you'll never come home to an empty igloo if you have one.

How Do I Get a Puffle?

All puffles cost 800 coins, so before you can think about buying one you need to earn a bit of money. Once you have earned 800 coins you can go to the Pet Shop and buy a puffle.

What does this all mean I say ? Hmmm ... I still don't know - BUT - you can ask my friend 'Andy Panda' and he will be able to shed some light on the subject !

Strawberries II

Strawberries II

"Loving your passion
Feeling the sweetness of dreaming
Surrendering to those summer strawberry days
Of strawberry emotions

Sweet strawberry seeds
Planted in your soul
Hope that this dark, ripe strawberry
Will be the sweetest

Strawberry emotions
Strawberry juice trailing down your lips
Kisses sticky
And suddenly the words flow

Another basket of strawberries
Another poem to write
Another of many strawberry emotions
Sweet surrender

Just surrender
To those summer
Those lazy summer
And strawberry emotions"

Strawberries I

Strawberries I

Inspiration's Favorite Foods
Mekeel McBride

A freshly baked loaf of black bread where it is rumored that the Brothers Grimm still hide their best stories. Strawberries. Day lilies for salad. And lobster, only if served on a bed of watercress and white violets. In times of stress, the shy solace of a baked potato. But remember this: Inspiration can, if forced, take nourishment from nothing at all.

Hellman's Real Mayonnaise

Hellman's Real Mayonnaise • this painting is sold

Mayonnaise is said to be the invention of the French chef of the Duke de Richelieu in 1756. While the Duke was defeating the British at Port Mahon, his chef was creating a victory feast that included a sauce made of cream and eggs. When the chef realized that there was no cream in the kitchen, he improvised, substituting olive oil for the cream. A new culinary masterpiece was born, and the chef named it "Mahonnaise" in honor of the Duke's victory.

You just gotta love those French !!!

Anticipation: beginning again

Anticipation: Heinz Ketchup • this painting is sold

Well, I've done it. I've decided to force myself into the discipline of restarting my 'Painting Each Day' project. I've also rejoined the 'Daily Painters' - thanks Micah !

For the last three years I've experienced great happiness and great loss. The worst loss - losing my Mother ... and then one year later to the month, losing my Father. Then something wonderful happened. I was the first artist invited to live and work in the beautiful Villa Fontaine in Antibes, France for three months. I never experienced such pure joy. At night I would paint while listening to Ella Fitzgerald. The warm Mediterranean breeze would be swirling throughout the villa. I could see the yachts with their twinkling lights from my window ... and all was Paradise.

Then, during the night, someone climbed over the locked gate and entered the villa. He or she or them stole everything I had. Over 3000 photos of my travels, my new HP pc, my iPod (all my music), my French cell phone, my American cell phone and all of the incredible Olympus lenses and the magnificent Olympus E620 camera. They stole my purse, emptied my back account ... and they got away with everything. I was left with four euros for the next four days. Hence, another complete devastation.

Since then I've been trying to crawl back. To return to the steady dedication and exuberance that I may have lost. It's difficult to keep it going day in, day out, but if I don't give it my best shot, then what ?

So, today, Sunday February 20th, I begin my daily journey of painting again. 'So it is written, so it shall be done' ... eeesh !

Goal:

To create my 'Painting Each Day' paintings (or ... ok ... no less than 5 a week).
To continue creating my large modern Antibes paintings.
To start my walking regime.
To market, market, market and establish myself as an internet presence again.
Return to beautiful Antibes and feel that great joy again (sans criminals).
Marry a beautiful rich French man who is crazy about me ... (one can dream).

So, please check back from time to time to see how it's going. Feel free to comment. Never underestimate the power of encouragement ... in art ... in life.

Thank you to the hundreds of people who already own a 'Painting Each Day' painting - I appreciate it more than you know.

Now, off to the studio ---

Clair de Lune • Dreaming of Antibes

You are invited to join us for our First Friday Celebration:

Friday, February 4th, 2011
6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Banana Factory
Bethlehem, PA USA

We hope to see YOU there !

Clair de Lune • Dreaming of Antibes

Clair de Lune • Dreaming of Antibes

Well, this large painting is now complete. It measures 63 inches high by 9 feet wide (160 cm x 275 cm). It symbolizes my longing for everything beautiful in Antibes.

When I began this painting, I wanted to focus on painting this with the influence of one piece of music. There was no choice for me ... it had to be the lovely and inspirational 'Clair de Lune' by Claude Debussy. I must have listened to that piece of music a hundred times during the creation of this painting ... and with each repeat of this piece, it was like hearing it for the first time .... sooo beautiful. I hope that you can see this composition in my work.

First Friday is this Friday, February 4th, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. And although Punxatawney Phil did not see his shadow - indicating Spring is around the corner - we, in the northeast, are in a state of frozen tundra.

... even more reason to dream of my beautiful Antibes in the French Riviera ...
